課題文をスラッシュで短く分解してから、訳してみましょう。

■ポイント■ 「about」には「〜について」だけではなく、「〜の近くに」という意味があります。場所を示す場合は「〜の近くに」という意味です。
例： He is standing about the door. → 彼はドアの近くに立っている。
［課題文の訳］ 翌年の春、ウサギの巣の近くに積み上げられたもろい土から実生の木が生えた。そして、ウサギはニワトコが嫌いなので、それらの木々は倒されることなく、成長し、今では高さ６〜８フィートの小さな木からなる50〜60本の木立ができていた。
